Inspiring people to environmental action through writing, public speaking, and multimedia efforts
WritingI have experience writing and editing for a variety of audiences, both scientific and non-scientific. I served as guest columnist and editor for the eco-advice column in the Stanford alumni magazine, which is distributed to hundreds of thousands of people. I also sit on the communications team within NOAA's Office of Education, writing and editing web stories for NOAA.gov/education.

Public speakingFrom sharing my story at youth environmental summits to teaching workshop participants how to write effective op-eds, I enjoy the challenge of spreading a message through public speeches. I have spoken in front of crowds of over 1000 people and love the energy that a large group of people brings into a room.

PhotographyA photograph can tell a story without words. They can also provide a connecting force between people and animals; staring into the eye of a stalking lion or seeing the giant eyes of a newborn chimp conjures emotional reactions in us as humans, and those reactions can shape our attitudes and behaviors.
